Windows Vista is just XP with a brand new design with some useful improvements.

 
 
 
  
 

Vista hardware requirements:

Dual-core processor system, with 2Gb or more of fast RAM, a 256Mb or better display card, fast and large enough hard drive.


Vista design:

Windows Vista design is really pretty nice. It supports various 3d  effects. Flip 3D is another very useful feature. Activate it with clicking Alt+Tab.
You cana download tions of nice schemes for example from myvistathemes.com
If you use Windows Media Player 11 you can get a better picture of Vista design.

Vista security:

Service pack 1 is still unavailable.
Vista offers some security improvements:
- Antimalware - Windows Defender
- Enhanced authentification
- Network access protection
- Firewall - same as in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
- Windows service hardening
- Internet Explorer enhancements - phishing filter, quick cache clearing

Security cons:
Some vendors complaining because Vista block their software.


Vista Review Resume:

Improved XP with a nicer design but with huge hardware requirements.
